Smoked Gourds
In this class, you will learn every step in creating a beautiful smoked gourd. You will learn how to properly clean the inside and outside of the gourd, then apply acrylic paint and a smoked finish. You will complete your gourd by adding a coiled rim using a Danish cord. This is a super fun class anyone can do!
About Eileen Marcotte
Eileen started weaving baskets in 1988, and was introduced to gourds in 1989. She was fascinated with the uniqueness of each gourd and joined gourd guilds to learn more and more. She started learning from a master woodcarver and that took her gourd art to a new level. Her art form incorporates gourds, weaving fibers, and basketry techniques. Eileen loves to learn and share her knowledge by teaching others.
