The Art of Seeing

An introduction to photography through observation and presence

This four-session class invites you to slow down, notice the world around you, and begin capturing it through the lens. In the first class, we’ll explore how to truly see a photograph before pressing the shutter—learning the essentials of light, composition, and color. Next, we’ll take our cameras outdoors on a photo walk through Sandpoint, where we’ll practice observing and framing the everyday beauty around us. In the final sessions, we’ll return to the classroom to edit our images together, discovering how small adjustments can bring out the story and mood of each photo.

No prior photography experience is needed—just curiosity, patience, and a willingness to see the world in new ways.
