Mosaic Art: Indirect Application Method

In this first 3-hour class, students will create an original mosaic on a 6x6” tile substrate using the direct application method. Students may bring or create their own design or use templates provided by the instructor. Tesserae for the design will include a variety of stained glass, pottery, tile, stone, beads, and gems. Glass cutting as well as nipping and shaping techniques will be presented along with basic concepts in color and composition.

In the second 3-hour class students will learn how to grout their original mosaic for a completed project that can be used as a trivet or wall hanging. All tools and materials will be provided.

A $15 supply fee will include all materials for the two sessions. All tools, adhesive, and tesserae will be provided.
