Photo Embroidery

Embark on a journey of transformation with photo embroidery, turning cherished photos into new mini works of art. This full-day interactive class will cover photo manipulation techniques using the free publishing program, Canva.  Also covered will be background design, constructing the landscape, learning embroidery methods, stitches, and how to frame your finished art. Suitable for all skill levels.

About hillary dunbar

As a lifelong hand embroidery enthusiast, Hillary has discovered a new way to combine embroidery, photography, and textile art. She is a certified CTE teacher with a background in both culinary and fiber arts.  She previously taught for 5 years at Forrest Bird Charter High School. Now, she is looking to bring her passion for textiles and slow stitching to the Sandpoint community.

Supply Fee

A detailed instruction booklet and all supplies will be provided by the instructor for a $20.00 supply fee. Please bring cash to the class session.

Supply list

No later than May 15, students will need to email the digital photo they would like to use in their project to their instructor.  (Hillary’s email address is: hillaryd@trek@tinystudio.com)

Students will need to bring a smartphone, tablet, or laptop to class so they can download the Canva program and use it to learn photo manipulation techniques.

Students will need to provide a 5x7 frame.
