The Music from the Crooked Road tour celebrates the deep-roots musical culture of Southwest Virginia along Hwy. 58, or the crooked road. This tour of old-time bluegrass and mountain gospel sounds brings together National Heritage Award Fellow and Appalachian guitar master Wayne Henderson, bluegrass banjo virtuoso Sammy Shelor, family old-time string band The Whitetop Mountain Band, old-time fiddle and banjo masters Kirk Sutphin and Eddie Bond and from the next wave of bluegrass band, No Speed Limit, along with Elizabeth La Prelle, a 19-year old keeper of ancient mountain ballads and songs. This special one-time gathering is a tribute to the generations of Appalachian musicians who are linked by an affinity for music and 200 miles of crooked road.
