ArtWalk II, sponsored by the Pend Oreille Arts Council, opens Friday, July 30th with 24 venues throughout Sandpoint. Opening receptions, many featuring live music, are free and open to the public from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening. A wide range of artwork, including paintings, photography, glasswork, mixed media and outdoor sculptures will be on display at galleries, shops, wine bars and restaurants throughout town.

“We are confident that the excitement generated by ArtWalk I will continue with ArtWalk II,” said Gretchen Duykers, POAC’s VP of Visual Arts. “The combination of new artist involvement, interesting and varied artwork, and the anticipated exceptional weather should encourage reception attendance for all art enthusiasts.

” The POAC show at the Power House Gallery for Artwalk II is entitled ‘Art Aquatic’. Several local and regional artists will be represented, showing a vast array of style, imagery, and media to bring forth water themed images that are exquisite, imaginative - even breathtaking.

ArtWalk brochures containing a map and self-guided tour are available at all participating locations, as well as Sandpoint City Hall, Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce and the Pend Oreille Arts Council office located in the Old Power House. ArtWalk II will remain on display through September 12.

POAC’s ArtWalk is a collaboration of local artisans, galleries and business owners throughout Sandpoint that involves two, six-week long exhibits. The 33rd Annual ArtWalk is generously sponsored by DA Davidson & Co. and Taylor-Parker Motor Company of Sandpoint.

ArtWalk opens Friday June 18th, 2010
Pend Oreille Arts Council’s ArtWalk I exhibits open Friday, June 18th at 24 locations throughout downtown Sandpoint. “New locations and phenomenal new artists all add excitement to this highly anticipated annual event,” said Gretchen Duykers, POAC’s VP of Visual Arts.

Opening receptions, many featuring live music, are free and open to the public from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.
